I Can Hardly Remember Her.
I Can Hardly Remember Her.
By Mark Bissallion
This is a picture of my great Aunt Laura Bissaillon Lewis. I can hardly remember her.
The one thing that stands out was she married a Jewish man George Lewis. This was frowned upon back in 1930s. This caused a controversy in the family.
They owned a men's clothing store in Meridan, Connecticut. They were quite successful with this business. I can remember Dad getting a suit from them.
Uncle George is buried in Connecticut in a Jewish cemetery and Aunt Laura is buried in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams, Massachusetts, in the Bissaillon plot.
My hope for you, Aunt Laura, is that you and Uncle George are together in heaven smiling down.
Aunt Laura and Uncle George you are not forgotten.
